GovComm is calling on Axis, Bosch, Cohu, Pelco, Sony and Vicon to show-up with their best ITS camera and $10,000 for an old west style shoot-out!
GovComm will place $10,000 against our competitor’s $10,000 (all held in escrow) for an independent laboratory and panel experts to determine the best ITS camera on the planet. Challenge criteria are as follows:
GovComm $10,000 Challenge
1. Best day color image of an automobile at 1 mile
2. Best day color image of an automobile at ½ mile
3. Best night color image of an automobile at 1 mile
4. Best night color image of an automobile at ½ mile
5. Best images while panning (auto focus mode)
6. Best images while zooming (auto focus mode)
7. Best images in difficult lighting (dawn & dusk)
8. Best images in high wind conditions
9. Best images while raining
10. Best images in dense fog
All monies held in escrow will be accounted for and disbursed by the escrow agent to the winning manufacturer’s charity of choice after deducting monies paid to the laboratory and panel for their costs and fees. ITS cameras must be National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) TS2 compliant and utilize the National Transportation Communications for Intelligent Transportation System Protocol (NTCIP). Results of the challenge will be determined by panel experts based on their observations and industry experience. Challenge results, participation and / or lack of participation information may be published and used for marketing purposes.
