Smart Waste Management Solutions

WASTE MONITORING

GovComm’s Compass platform offers waste monitoring to understand waste production, help ensure that only full or near full bins are collected, adjust bin capacity and distribution, help eliminate overflowing bins, provide a better quality of service and engage citizens through our mobile application.

Our waste monitoring solution utilizes IoT smart sensor ultrasound technology to measure the fill levels in bins and containers several times a day. This information is transmitted to the Compass platform’s dashboard that offers detailed a bin inventory, a digital interactive map, sensor configuration, a display of live data from the sensors, future predictions on fill levels, a fire and tilt alarm, citizen feedback and manual itinerary planning for waste collection.

The system accommodates operator daily tasks and enables planning for waste collection based on actual bin fullness. The interactive mobile application informs citizens of the nearest-available empty bin and enables them to provide real-time feedback.

ASSET MANAGEMENT

Compass’ enables smart cities to digitize its waste infrastructure to identify and record waste assets, understand waste infrastructure, track, communicate, invoice and provide service verification.

Utilizing RFID tags, Compass provides municipalities the ability to identify and record assets in a digital inventory and provides simplifies bin tracking, communication and invoicing, and restrains unauthorized use of bins. A clear and accurate overview of all bin assets is the key and the very first step leading towards smart waste management.

Compass offers 3 types of bin tags – transponders, PVC plates and labels. Visual identification is ensured by a number code, bar code or QR code. Bin details are available on our mobile application by scanning the code on the tag with a smartphone (without the requirement of a specialized reader). Our mobile application can also be used for asset mapping, service verification and requests for collection or maintenance.

Since we are digitizing waste infrastructure, smart city personnel will have instant access vis the Compass dashboard to our digital interactive map, tools for qualitative analysis of waste infrastructure (bin distribution, capacity), maintenance records, collection records and an overview of citizen feedback.

ROUTE PLANNING

The Compass solution provides optimization and automation which enables better planning of waste collection routes. We incorporate data from our IoT sensors to optimize the use of resources and to help calculate collection costs.

Our route planning enables automated management of the waste collection routes based on precise pre-defined data regarding waste collection vehicles, depots, and landfills / incineration cites with a goal to maximize the utilization of resources and minimize costs.

Smart city operators schedule routes through the Compass platform which allows drivers to access remotely through the mobile application. Our route planning solution results in fewer miles driven per ton of collected waste and the full utilization of vehicle capacity and time. Efficient routes help minimize negative impacts of waste collection by reducing noise pollution, air pollution and traffic.
