GovComm military grade traffic detection devices are configured to capture unique media access control (MAC) addresses from broadcasting and non-broadcasting Bluetooth, WiFi and Tire Pressure Monitoring Sensor (TPMS) appliances on-board passing vehicles. The captured information is tagged, culled and analyzed in Advanced Traffic Management System (ATMS) software to calculate average travel time and speed.

Our scanning, sensing and communication modules are hardened and housed in NEMA 4 industrial strength, water-resistant enclosures and communicate over the local area network or optional WiFi, RF, NB IoT or GSM networks.

HOW IT WORKS

Today’s vehicles typically have several appliances on-board that utilize wireless communication technologies.  GovComm scanning hardware discovers Bluetooth, WiFi and TPMS signals as well as the unique MAC addresses associated with the connected appliance. When a vehicle passes a GovComm detection device, MAC address(es) are captured, then time stamped using network time protocol (NTP) synchronization.  The MAC addresses, time-stamp and location information are communicated to traffic management software at a central location for analysis.  Physics and a simple math formula (distance / time) determine average vehicle speed while the ATMS software utilizes its logical framework to perform statistical analyses with set levels of probabilities to scientifically compute average travel time and speed for vehicles traveling between specific points.

Since air pollution is a constantly growing problem worldwide, GovComm adds our air quality monitoring system that collects sample data that can be used to make informed decisions to best manage and improve the environment. GovComm’s environmental sensors provide detailed and reliable data on key environmental parameters such as humidity, temperature, barometric pressure, carbon dioxide (CO2) and Ozone-depleting gasses such as volatile organic compounds (VOC) and nitrogen oxides (NOx).
