GovComm’s Heron series ITS cameras are unsurpassed in image quality providing crystal clear resolution in daylight, low-light, no light, heavy rain, snow and dense fog conditions at distances up to six miles. The Heron is an exterior positioner speed dome camera meaning the processors, sensors, lens, motors and infra-red illuminators are embedded and sealed into the housing. This camera series is available in 2, 3, 6 or 8 megapixel resolutions, 23X or 36X optical zoom focal-lengths, and can be powered locally by a 24VAC transformer that is provided or an optional PoE injector.

The Heron features an extremely low color lux (0.002) providing superior, color night vision plus smart infra-red illuminators that provide a light field up to 200 meters that automatically adjust to the zoomed focal length of the lens. If the infra-red illuminators are engaged, the image switches to black and white and the lux is further reduced (0.0002) for incredible night vision. Provision of pan, tilt and zoom functions enables wide area coverage and great detail when zooming-in. This camera series supports features such as patrols, smart tracking, audio, input/output ports for external alarm devices, intelligent analytics and presets. A wide range of mounting brackets, adapters and kits are available for installation.
GovComm ITS cameras are hardened for extreme temperatures (-40°C to +75°C), resistant to electrical transients, vibration, shock, anti-thunder, anti-surge (TVS 6,000 Volts), anti-static, certified by an independent laboratory to be NEMA TS2 compliant and tested to be resilient against category 5 hurricane force winds. Technically, the Owl is fluent in NTCIP which is a family of standards that provides both the rules for communicating (protocols) and the vocabulary (objects) necessary to allow electronic traffic control equipment from different manufacturers to operate with each other as a system. This camera supports an API development interface, CGI, PSIA, ISAPI protocol access and are Open Network Video Interface Forum (ONVIF) profile S and G compliant.
